Request for information only. To use our non-circulating collection search both the book and manuscript catalogs. If you find materials you would like to use, schedule an appointment to come to the Bostonian Society Library. There is a fee to use the library. We are open Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If you would like us to research your question, use the form below providing as much detail as possible about the information you seek. Include full names, dates, street names, and whatever information you think will help us aid your search. It is particularly helpful if you provide the purpose of your research, for example academic research, publication, personal knowledge, etc. There is a $50.00 fee (paid in advance) for any in-depth research. We will notify you if this is the case before proceeding with the work. There may be a nominal fee for shipping and photocopy costs. Donations are appreciated.


Image request only. Search the image catalog. If you would like us to research your image question using collections not yet available online, please provide as much detail as possible describing the images you need. For example, describe how the images will be used, the name and significance of an individual, the name or street address of places, or the date of the event. Also, please provide information on the purpose of your project, for example, for publication, exhibit, reference, etc. There is a $50.00 fee (paid in advance) for processing large photo research requests. We will notify you if this is the case before proceeding with the work. Consult the Fee Schedule for reproduction and use charges.
