Boston Massacre Reenactment
On March 2, 2013 we commemorated the 243rd anniversary of the Boston Massacre. Thanks to the dedication and expertise of many local reenactor groups, as well as the commitment of the Bostonian Society staff, this year's commemoration was a great success. Our day time events included a new public activity exploring the tensions between soldiers and Bostonians of the 1760s, with local children assuming the roles of each! The evening reenactment also saw the addition of a narrator this year, helping provide context to Boston Massacre for the audience.

Boston Massacre Reenactment
The annual Boston Massacre Reenactment took place on March 10, 2012. The highlight this year was the debut of the newly-recreated HM 29th Regiment of Foot. Members of this unit carefully researched the uniforms worn by the British soldiers involved in the shootings of March 5, 1770, and spent months crafting replicas from historically appropriate materials. The results were outstanding and seemed to be greatly appreciated by the large crowd that turned out for the festivities. This year the reenactment also benefited from an expanded "stage," thanks to the recent expansion of the pedestrian zone around the Boston Massacre marker at the east end of the Old State House.
