If the clothes make the man, what manner of man makes the clothes?
Historical costumer and master tailor Henry Cooke returns to the Old State House to continue his work creating a replica of John Hancock's elegant red velvet coat. Join us in our gallery as he measures and cuts the pattern before the final phase of construction.
Mr. Cooke will be using period-accurate materials and techniques while sharing his knowledge and insight of the 18th century fashion and textile trade. Visitors have a unique opportunity to view the original Hancock coat and witness the process of its replication while speaking to an expert craftsman about his work.
This program is FREE with admission to the Old State House.
