Since 1881, the Society has collected, preserved, and made accessible for research a wide range of materials relating to the history of Boston. Highlights of our library collection include sources on New England and Boston history, colonial history and the American Revolution, and Massachusetts Revolutionary War military records. The archives has a wide selection of historical documents, including manuscript collections, financial records, broadsides, maps and plans, and newspapers.

The library and museum are currently not accepting any donations, except those relating to the 18th century and the American Revolution. NOTE: The library and museum will not accept unsolicited donations through the mail or in person, and we reserve the right to dispose of unsolicited items.
