Since 1776, America’s Independence has been declared from the Old State House balcony. Join us again this year for the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence by Captain Commanding Nicholas Schiarizzi of the Ancient and the Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts.

This FREE outdoor event is brought to you by the City of Boston and the Bostonian Society.

The Old State House Museum will be open immediately following the reading.

Take a look back at past Fourth of July celebrations at the Old State House on our blog.

To learn more about the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, and their museum visit them online, or at their free museum located on the fourth floor of Faneuil Hall.

This event is free.
